About The Position

Martin Marietta is seeking a Crane Operator to join their team at the Midlothian Quarry in Midlothian, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, dependable, and motivated. This role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating cranes and other lifting equipment, transporting products/equipment on-site, performing maintenance on relevant equipment, maintaining a safe working area, and troubleshooting equipment operating issues. The typical work hours are 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with weekend work as necessary.

Requirements

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
• Have previous experience as a crane operator or a similar role
• Have experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment, construction equipment and/or equipment used processing plants

Responsibilities

• Operating the crane and associated equipment within the company guidelines and safety standards
• Completing day to day activities of crane operations including daily/monthly machine inspections
• Participating in safety inspections, plant safety program, and follows company and MSHA safety rules and regulations
• Attaching loads with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains, to crane hook within the company guidelines and safety standards
• Performing pre-shift safety inspection on equipment and reports needed repairs to the supervisor
• Receiving directions to engage in hoisting and moving products/equipment to ensure the safety of workers and material handled, using hand signals, loud speakers, or two-way radios
• Transporting, screens, crushers and other aggregate products/equipment to various locations on-site
• Transporting aggregate products to screens, crushers and other locations on-site
• Directing workers engaged in hoisting of machinery and equipment into or on to trucks, railroad cars or other moving device
• Operating other equipment in a safe manner as needed
• Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor
