About The Position

The Center for Regional Agriculture, Food, and Transformation (CRAFT) is seeking a Resource and Education Coordinator for a USDA funded Local Food Promotion Program grant. This position will focus on creating resources and educational programming tailored for food businesses and retail locations to support the development and sale of locally produced value-added products. CRAFT is dedicated to centering community and fostering equitable, transparent regional food systems. This is a part-time, 15-hour per week position, totaling 225 hours across the fall 2026 and spring 2027 semesters, with a pay rate of $18 per hour.

Requirements

  • Ability to self-manage time, self-start, and work independently on a time-sensitive project.
  • Comfort in data gathering, academic research and class or resource development.
  • Organization and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • An understanding of small business ownership, value added product creation, curriculum creation, and/or graphic design.
  • Experience in food systems, non-profit, or similar work.
  • Experience with Canva, Google Workspace, Teachable, or other design and collaboration platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Research, organize, create resources for, and record up to 2 online asynchronous courses via the Teachable platform with the aim of providing resources and education for local value added producers and retail outlets.
  • Research, organize, and create online and printable resources for farmers and food business owners.
  • Support CRAFT run courses including a 6-week virtual class for food business owners and in person food safety certification courses in the fall.
  • Support value added product marketing and merchandising initiative planning for the RegionALLY Appalachia initiative.
