About The Position

Kiewit employs approximately 30,000 employees and has been in business for 136 years, designing and constructing large projects across North America. The company is searching for a Construction/Craft Recruiter to support various market areas including mining, transportation, oil/gas/chemical, power, industrial facilities, buildings, and water/wastewater. The Recruitment team is described as strong, with dedicated individuals passionate about finding the best talent. Recruiters work in a fast-paced environment, partner with business divisions, and creatively source and hire candidates. The ideal candidate has a strong background in high-volume construction/craft recruitment, is self-motivated, and can creatively find, screen, and hire talent.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience recruiting craft professionals in Infrastructure Construction (Equipment Operators, Carpenters, Pipe-layers, Concrete Finishers, welders, riggers, etc.).
  • Experience supporting the US in craft hiring is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.
  • Agility and creativity in sourcing strategies and ability to pivot as necessary to support new market areas.
  • Utilize a key eye for detail working with all systems to provide accuracy.
  • Experience in some or all the following markets preferred: Oil and gas/petrochemical, industrial facility, mining, infrastructure, transportation, power, water, and wastewater markets).
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a demanding environment and manage high volume recruitment (20-30 hires per week).
  • Human Resources knowledge such as EEOC, FLSA, diversity recruiting and interview best practices.
  • Knowledge of union and non-union craft management practices.
  • Experience working in ATS systems required; (Success Factors is preferred).
  • Ability to work individually and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be initiative-taking, proactively reaching out to construction teams and leaders to move the hiring process forward.
  • Proven performance in sourcing, screening, interviewing, developing offers and closing deals.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, outstanding customer service and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively develop business relationships and customer service skills working with Site Point of Contact, candidates, and Project Operations to provide the best service during the hiring process.
  • Recruit, screen, and interview candidates presenting the best talent to Operations for consideration in a high volume, demanding environment.
  • Facilitate internal transfers and referrals ensuring their transition is timely and efficient.
  • Manage a recruiting requisition load of 30-50 job openings at a time (Equipment Operators, Pipelayers, Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Concrete Carpenters, etc.).
  • Utilize SuccessFactors ATS, and various social media platforms, job boards, etc. to source for top talent.
  • Network to recruit active and passive candidates for current positions and build talent pipelines for future career opportunities (attend career fairs, conferences, outreach activities).
  • Extend job offers and see candidates through the onboarding process being available to guide and direct them.
  • Actively gain knowledge on recruiting trends, understanding how they align with Kiewit’s business priorities.
  • Collaborate with Operations leaders to determine workforce planning needs and expectations, gaining advanced knowledge of current and future construction projects.
  • Create, extend, and bring offers to a close. Demonstrate knowledge of union and nonunion Craft management practices.
  • Train and guide hiring managers on recruiting processes on proper utilization and management of requisitions and candidates within ATS.
  • Maintains knowledge of employment laws to ensure compliance across the business.
