About The Position

The Craft – Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently performing Civil/Electrical duties at the project site.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED required.
CCO certification for crane operators required.
CDL certification for A/T cranes preferred.
Level I: 0-2 years’ experience with backhoe, loader, roller and rock truck required.
Level II: 0-3 years’ experience with blade, excavator and dozer in addition to level I equipment required.
Level III: 1-3 years’ experience with trencher and up to 130 ton crane/crawler R/T (rough terrain) and less than 250 ton crane/crawler or A/T (all terrain) in addition to levels I and II equipment required.
Level IV: 4+ years’ experience with 250 ton crane/crawler or A/T (all terrain) in addition to levels I, II and III equipment required.
Ability to travel domestically 76-100% required.
Basic knowledge in fundamental blueprints.
Intermediate knowledge in safety training, following rules and regulations, industry standards, operating equipment safely and efficiently.
Communication skills including listening skills, comprehending and following directions, meeting work goals, meeting deadlines, conveying issues, following verbal and/or written directions accurately, radio use, relationship building, accuracy in work, and use of hand tools and equipment.
Functional competencies include attention to detail, communication, casting the right shadow, accountability, and ethics and integrity.
Ability to pass a pre-employment background investigation and drug test.

CDL certification for A/T cranes preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently perform Civil/Electrical duties at the project site.
Follow OSHA safety and operating procedures of heavy and light equipment.
Operate light/heavy equipment including, but not limited to: backhoe, loader, roller, rock truck, blade, excavator, dozer, forklift for crane erection.
Inspect incoming and outgoing loads, perform all pre-inspection checks and monitor equipment during operation.
Report results from pre-inspections on equipment daily, including hours usage, fuel usage, deficiencies and/or maintenance required.
Perform work on various types of terrain (A/T and R/T), evaluating requirements for assigned work.
Maintain job site and materials in an organized and efficient order.
Maintain all mobile and stationary equipment by performing preventive maintenance, i.e. tightening, cleaning, greasing and other minor maintenance and repairs.
Notify supervisor for refueling and management of any malfunctions that occur.
Climb into heavy equipment using attached ladders.
Clean interior cab area of equipment daily.
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas as stated by OSHA.
Present, support, and lead-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
Ensure safety is the most important function and follow safe practices while working.
Reinforce safe behaviors and eliminate “at risk” behaviors.
Report potentially unsafe conditions and use materials and equipment properly.
Ensure Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.
Adhere to and understand standard operating procedures.
Receive job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
Follow technical, quality and safety systems in place and determine appropriate action.
Follow safety and security procedures and determine appropriate action.
Attend work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
