About The Position

The Craft – Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently performing Civil/Electrical duties at the project site.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • CCO certification for crane operators required.
  • CDL certification for A/T cranes preferred.
  • Level I: 0-2 years’ experience with backhoe, loader, roller and rock truck required.
  • Level II: 0-3 years’ experience with blade, excavator and dozer in addition to level I equipment required.
  • Level III: 1-3 years’ experience with trencher and up to 130 ton crane/crawler R/T (rough terrain) and less than 250 ton crane/crawler or A/T (all terrain) in addition to levels I and II equipment required.
  • Level IV: 4+ years’ experience with 250 ton crane/crawler or A/T (all terrain) in addition to levels I, II and III equipment required.
  • Ability to travel domestically 76-100% required.
  • Basic knowledge in fundamental blueprints.
  • Intermediate knowledge in safety training, following rules and regulations, industry standards, operating equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Communication skills including listening skills, comprehending and following directions, meeting work goals, meeting deadlines, conveying issues, following verbal and/or written directions accurately, radio use, relationship building, accuracy in work, and use of hand tools and equipment.
  • Functional competencies include attention to detail, communication, casting the right shadow, accountability, and ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background investigation and drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL certification for A/T cranes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently perform Civil/Electrical duties at the project site.
  • Follow OSHA safety and operating procedures of heavy and light equipment.
  • Operate light/heavy equipment including, but not limited to: backhoe, loader, roller, rock truck, blade, excavator, dozer, forklift for crane erection.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing loads, perform all pre-inspection checks and monitor equipment during operation.
  • Report results from pre-inspections on equipment daily, including hours usage, fuel usage, deficiencies and/or maintenance required.
  • Perform work on various types of terrain (A/T and R/T), evaluating requirements for assigned work.
  • Maintain job site and materials in an organized and efficient order.
  • Maintain all mobile and stationary equipment by performing preventive maintenance, i.e. tightening, cleaning, greasing and other minor maintenance and repairs.
  • Notify supervisor for refueling and management of any malfunctions that occur.
  • Climb into heavy equipment using attached ladders.
  • Clean interior cab area of equipment daily.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas as stated by OSHA.
  • Present, support, and lead-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
  • Ensure safety is the most important function and follow safe practices while working.
  • Reinforce safe behaviors and eliminate “at risk” behaviors.
  • Report potentially unsafe conditions and use materials and equipment properly.
  • Ensure Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.
  • Adhere to and understand standard operating procedures.
  • Receive job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
  • Follow technical, quality and safety systems in place and determine appropriate action.
  • Follow safety and security procedures and determine appropriate action.
  • Attend work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Comply with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.
