This role involves both primary and assistant instructor duties, conducting training in various settings including classrooms, shops, and onboard vessels and dockside. The training covers a range of maritime topics such as maritime systems, Rules of the Road, Marine Radar, and vessel operations. A key responsibility is directing the movement of Landing Craft Utility (LCU) in simulated amphibious assault scenarios, including docking, undocking, beaching, retracting, and loading of equipment and supplies. The instructor will also direct craft movement using Rules of the Road, electronic and visual navigation, and communication procedures. Additionally, the role includes editing and recommending changes to lesson plans, planning instruction, managing training schedules, coordinating pier space and graduation services, and providing simulator support. The instructor will offer remedial assistance, prepare training materials, and develop lesson plans for maritime technical training, specifically focusing on army watercraft engine operations. Maintaining and updating briefings, papers, lesson plans, and written actions related to POIs, FMs, TMs, and associated pamphlets is also required.
