About The Position

The Craft Foreman is responsible for the successful completion of field tasks with quality construction, zero accidents, and within budget as assigned by the Project Superintendent. This role provides support and accurate information to the Project Superintendent. The Craft Foreman will organize and monitor crews, verify the accuracy of work, ensure safety compliance, perform layout using survey equipment, complete timesheets with certified payroll, manage field material requisitions and small tools, monitor and report productivity, maintain field logs, manage erosion control, identify drawing discrepancies, attend meetings, assist with facility startup activities, coordinate work with shop drawings, provide as-built information, contribute to production plans, handle material receiving and inventory, understand task budgets, assist with scheduling, report issues, identify exceptional craft workers, and support training. Safety is paramount, involving accident investigations, leading by example, ensuring crew compliance, scheduling training, completing safety paperwork, assisting with safety violations, complying with Risk Management, monitoring subcontractor compliance, leading morning stretch and flex, and delivering Safety Task Assignments (STAs).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five (5) years construction-related experience with a record of quality and profitable craft work.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be current with training as competent person in trenching, scaffolds, rigging, confined space, and fall protection.
  • Must be current in OSHA 10-hour, First Aid & CPR, SWPPP Inspector, silica, Risk Management, and Accident training.

Responsibilities

  • Successful completion of field tasks with quality construction, zero accidents, and within budget.
  • Provide support and accurate information to the Project Superintendent.
  • Organize and monitor crews.
  • Verify accuracy of work (i.e. dimension verification).
  • Ensure safety compliance, conduct daily STAs with crews.
  • Perform layout using survey equipment.
  • Complete timesheets with certified payroll.
  • Manage field material requisitions.
  • Manage small tools.
  • Monitor and report productivity.
  • Maintain field logs (i.e. equipment inspections, Daily Safety Checklist).
  • Maintain Erosion Control (i.e. SWPPP reports, correct measures if needed).
  • Identify drawing discrepancies.
  • Attend daily and weekly meetings.
  • Assist with facility startup activities.
  • Coordinate work with shop drawings.
  • Provide as-built information to field management.
  • Provide input for production plans.
  • Handle material handling, receiving & inventory.
  • Understand budgets for each task.
  • Assist Superintendent with 5-week schedule.
  • Report issues or problems to field management.
  • Identify and discuss exceptional craft workers with field management.
  • Support training craft workers.
  • Assist with accident investigations.
  • Practice safety rules and lead by example.
  • Ensure crews follow safety rules.
  • Schedule and organize training as required.
  • Complete safety paperwork.
  • Assist crews and subcontractors with safety violations.
  • Comply with Risk Management.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance.
  • Lead morning stretch and flex.
  • Monitor and deliver Safety Task Assignments (STAs).
