LAPORTE is looking for a CPI in food processes with ideally a minimum of 1 year of experience in chemical or food process engineering to join its team in the greater Montreal area in Saint-Hyacinthe. Our CPI will be responsible for site supervision and project coordination for the plant development of our clients.

Requirements

  • Presence 5 days a week at the client's site.
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, biotechnology, food engineering, or other relevant specialty.
  • At least 1 year of experience, ideally in the food or pharmaceutical industry, with expertise in process design and optimization.
  • Member of CPI, Ordre des ingénieur.es du Québec (OIQ).
  • Work in person, at the client's site, for mandates of all durations, according to client needs.
  • Experience in project management and interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, biotechnology, or other relevant specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in project definition and planning with clients.
  • Analyze technical needs and propose solutions adapted to the agri-food plant environment.
  • Issue work permits.
  • Coordinate between the plant and workers to maintain the best working conditions for everyone.
  • Supervise contractors and coordinate suppliers on construction sites.
  • Track schedules and establish project budgets.
  • Ensure site supervision and compliance with machine safety and health & safety standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure deliverable compliance.
  • Participate in the hiring and management of external resources (contractors, engineering firms).
  • Ensure technical and administrative project follow-up, from design to implementation.
  • Coordinate equipment installation, startup, validation, and commissioning on site.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and contractors, including deliverable tracking.
  • Establish and control project budgets and schedules, and present progress reports to clients.
