CPD Tech II
About The Position
The CPD Tech II assists in overseeing and directing or precepting the workflow of Central Processing Technician students and CPD Tech I staff. The role also helps address equipment and supply issues in the work area in accordance with established policies, procedures, and Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) standards. The CPD Tech II provides input into staff evaluations, assists with on-shift staff development as appropriate, and serves as a role model and resource to peers and other health care team members regarding the processing of equipment, instruments, and supplies. The position is based at Farmington Hills Hospital, a Level II trauma center and Michigan State University’s base teaching hospital. The hospital has served the community since 1965 and has been recognized for high performance in multiple procedures and conditions and for nursing excellence.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of relevant experience in sterile processing technician work or related sterile processing.
- Successful completion of an internal or external sterile processing program.
- Upon hire, either Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Tech (CSPDT) certification through CBSPD or Registered Central Services Technician, Certified (CRCST) certification through IAHCSMM is required.
Responsibilities
