About The Position
We are seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join a growing public accounting practice serving individuals, business owners, trusts, and estates. This role offers the opportunity to build a strong foundation in tax while expanding into tax planning, estate planning, retirement planning, and wealth management. The ideal candidate has approximately 1–3 years of public accounting experience, enjoys working directly with clients, and is interested in developing beyond traditional tax compliance into a broader advisory role. This position provides exposure to a wide range of tax and financial planning matters while working alongside experienced professionals. This opportunity is well suited for a motivated CPA seeking to expand beyond tax preparation and build a long-term career in tax planning, financial advisory, and wealth management while working closely with a diverse client base.
Requirements
- Active CPA license required
- 1–3+ years of public accounting or tax experience
- Experience preparing individual and business tax returns
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work directly with clients
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines during busy tax seasons
- Willingness to work additional hours during peak filing periods
- Ability to work on-site in Oradell, New Jersey
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with partnership, trust, and estate taxation is preferred
- Interest in tax planning, financial planning, retirement planning, and wealth management
Responsibilities
- Prepare federal and state individual, business, partnership, trust, and estate tax returns
- Assist with tax planning strategies and year-round tax projections
- Support retirement, estate, and wealth planning initiatives
- Participate in client meetings to discuss tax and financial matters
- Research tax laws and provide practical solutions for clients
- Collaborate with senior accounting and advisory professionals on client engagements
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure timely completion of assigned work
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication
- Assist with bookkeeping, accounting, and other advisory services as needed
