About The Position

Golden Reserve is seeking an experienced and personable Certified Public Accountant to build and lead its internal tax support and preparation team. This is a player-coach role, with 75% of the time dedicated to tax support and preparation, and 25% focused on building out the new team and department. As the team grows, leadership and management responsibilities will increase. Golden Reserve is a full-service RIA and insurance firm committed to transforming the financial industry for both retirees and its financial professionals. The company has rapidly expanded to over 40 offices across 9 states and is continuing to grow. The role involves managing the tax preparation of annual returns, assisting with ongoing real-time tax support, participating in events, and coordinating the development and expansion of the tax department. Golden Reserve's lead generation strategies include a national radio and television show, seminar workshops, digital marketing, and exceptional client services.

Requirements

Certified Public Accountant
Five (5)+ Years of tax preparation, accounting and tax planning experience
Proficiency with tax preparation software (Drake, UltraTax, or similar)
Communication Excellence – managing and inspiring a team and our clients require a world class communicator internally and externally
Management – you will be asked to lead a multi-location team to drive process while maintaining and managing a growth culture with constant change

Responsibilities

Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals
Review financial records, income statements, and documentation to ensure accuracy
Identify tax credits, deductions, and strategies that benefit clients
Communicate clearly with clients to gather necessary information and explain outcomes
Stay current on changes to tax laws and regulations
Maintain organized and confidential client records
Lead a team of Tax Preparers and help to build internal policies and procedures
