About The Position

The Pawtucket COZ program is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and student-centered Site Coordinator to lead a school-based afterschool program supported by the 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant. COZ provides students with safe, engaging opportunities to learn, explore new interests, build relationships, and strengthen their academic and social-emotional skills beyond the school day. The Site Coordinator plays a key leadership role in making that work possible. This person oversees the daily operation of the program, supports onsite staff, builds strong relationships with students and families, and serves as an important connection between COZ, the school principal, school staff, and the Central COZ team. We are looking for someone who can create a welcoming and well-organized environment while also managing the behind-the-scenes responsibilities that keep the program running smoothly.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience working with students in an afterschool program, school, camp, childcare setting, youth organization, or a similar environment.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable, flexible, comfortable managing multiple responsibilities, and able to build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and school administrators.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supervising staff, coordinating a program, or leading groups of students is strongly preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, human services, social work, recreation, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant coursework, professional training, certification, or equivalent experience may also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily program operations and ensure students are safe, supervised, and actively engaged.
  • Lead and support Club Leaders, Program Assistants, and Teen Assistants by communicating expectations, providing coaching, and facilitating regular staff meetings.
  • Maintain positive communication with families regarding schedules, program updates, student progress, and concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with the school principal and school staff, including keeping them informed of serious incidents or important program developments.
  • Support student registration, enrollment, waitlists, and required staff-to-student ratios.
  • Address student behavior using positive, age-appropriate strategies and seek additional support when needed.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, enrollment, lesson plan, and program records.
  • Enter and update student and club information in Cityspan or other designated data systems.
  • Work closely with the COZ Data Specialist to ensure attendance records, surveys, and other required documentation are complete and submitted on time.
  • Support staff with lesson plans, club activities, and student engagement strategies.
  • Organize family communication, special events, and an end-of-session showcase.
  • Ensure all program spaces are clean, organized, and returned to their original condition at the end of each day.
  • Attend required staff meetings, coordinator meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
