About The Position

The Career Center Coyote Career Ambassadors - student assistants serve as peer-to-peer mentors and bring campus-wide awareness of how to become career-ready by utilizing career development services and supporting college-specific programming/student needs such as resume and cover letter development, job and internship search strategies, career/internship fairs, mock interviews, and professional development workshops.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work.
  • Ability to follow oral instructions.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
  • Ability to read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
  • Admission or registration as a CSU student.
  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate).
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate).
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Possess a Social Security Card.

  • Attend work shifts on time and allow adequate notification for coverage when unable to attend a work shift
  • Possess and maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and work area
  • Ability to productively work independently and as part of a group
  • Students selected must be available to work during regular business hours and according to the office's needs
  • Receive and provide feedback
  • Flexibility to learn new skills, styles, and modes to satisfy each project's goals and creative vision and the Career Center overall.
  • Available to work 10-20 hours per week, with a two-semester commitment
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Act as a peer ambassador representing the Career Center.
  • Provide meaningful support and resources to the student body.
  • Bring campus-wide awareness of how to become career-ready by utilizing career development services.
  • Support college-specific programming/student needs such as resume and cover letter development, job and internship search strategies, career/internship fairs, mock interviews, and professional development workshops.

Benefits

  • Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: $16.90 per hour.
