About The Position

The Cover Delivery Driver drives a variety of route assignments, covering vacations and absences at least 50% of the time. The role transports products safely and delivers office supplies to customers on assigned routes while providing customer support, resolving problems, and accepting product returns as needed. Depending on volume, the driver may load vehicles and organizes and loads products using a manifest to support an efficient route and schedule. The driver follows safe work practices and helps foster the company’s safety culture. The role may also involve loading and handling products, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, completing pre-trip inspections, and reporting maintenance concerns. Schedule: 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Monday–Friday.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving history acceptable to the company; must remain eligible to drive a commercial motor vehicle under applicable laws and regulations.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen (No THC), to the extent legally permissible, and obtain a 6-month DOT medical card specific to the role.
• Basic English verbal and written communication skills.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to work additional hours beyond the scheduled shift; overtime may be required based on business need.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds, push and pull items weighing up to 400 pounds with assistance from hand carts or material-handling equipment, and occasionally maneuver up to 130 pounds.
• Must wear safety composite shoes.
• Ability to drive safely and courteously, navigate maps, and handle varied weather and road conditions.
• Ability to make sound driving, parking, safety, and customer-interaction decisions.
• Ability to learn and use software applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and technology such as GPS and mobile POD devices.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 1 year of truck-driving experience operating a 16-foot-or-longer straight truck, or comparable driving experience.
• High-volume or small-package delivery experience.
