About The Position

Pinetop Country Club is seeking a Courts Professional to administer and instruct all areas of their tennis, pickleball, and bocce ball programs. This role involves managing classes, levels, training, special events, and tournaments. The Courts Professional will assist the General Manager in day-to-day operations and can independently manage these sports operations. A strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction is essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to play and teach pickleball, tennis, and bocce ball.
  • Understanding of rules for pickleball, tennis, and bocce ball.
  • Knowledge of Database, Internet, and Word Processing software.
  • Must be certified or able to obtain within six months of employment: Certification with the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association "Level 1" Certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience with various ability levels.
  • Must have International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA) certification.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional tennis teaching experience is welcomed.
  • Certification with the Professional Tennis Registry "Professional Level" Certification is preferred.
  • Certification with the United States Professional Tennis Association "Professional 1 Level" Certification is preferred.
  • American Red Cross CPR/AED Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administering and instructing all areas of the tennis, pickleball, and bocce ball programs, including all classes, levels, training, special events, and tournaments.
  • Teaching private and group lessons in pickleball, tennis, and bocce ball.
  • Effectively communicating and demonstrating proper techniques, grip, stroke production, serve, footwork, and rules.
  • Conducting instruction in accordance with the Club's standardized methods and strategies.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as attendance taking, returning messages, and general correspondence.
  • Operating summer camp programming.
  • Assisting with the planning and implementing of tennis, pickleball, and bocce ball programs, classes, levels, training, tournaments, and special events.
  • Assisting managerial preparation for and facilitation of seasonal registration.
  • Managing the proper placement of students in class levels based on skill level.
  • Providing recommendations for the club’s summer programming.
  • Completing timesheets daily by accurately inputting private/group/drop-in and administrative hours.
  • Securing substitute teaching professionals when unable to fulfill commitments.
  • Keeping accurate attendance records and updating master lists.
  • Maintaining a neat and clean facility, including ball pickup and proper equipment storage after every shift.
  • Maintaining a list of client names for private lessons.
  • Participating and contributing to periodic staff meetings and professional development training.
  • Assisting with staff hiring, training, and evaluating.
  • Recruiting participants for programming.
  • Keeping administrative staff apprised of any key issues, class assignment changes, and other significant developments in a timely fashion.
  • Soliciting feedback and actively listening to others.
  • Making recommendations for improvements and efficiencies.
  • Providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Conducting all work safely, including using personal protective equipment and safety devices as required.
  • Identifying and reporting any safety hazards.
  • Attending all club required training.
