Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree
  • Three years of paraprofessional and/or professional experience
  • One year of which shall have included experience in case management; enforcement of court orders; and/or supervision, monitoring and intervention of offenders
  • Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits
  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
  • A master’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above
  • A law degree from an approved American Bar Association law school may be substituted for two years of general experience as indicated above
  • Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position
  • Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations
  • Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting
  • In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey
  • Applicants must complete the work experience and education sections and attach any required documents
  • Applications must describe all relevant work experience in detail, beginning with your current or most recent job, including military service (indicate rank), internships and job-related volunteer work, if applicable

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, assign, coordinate, evaluate, review, and lead the work of a team composed of paraprofessional and clerical support personnel
  • Monitor a caseload
  • Interact with judges, staff, attorneys and self-represented litigants to ensure that cases are processed efficiently and backlog is reduced
  • Determine appropriate services for customers
  • Develop statistical reports
  • Oversee projects
  • Identify and analyze complex problems and use sound reasoning to arrive at conclusions
  • Confer with team members and staff about procedures, programs, requirements and regulations within the organization
  • Adhere to statutes, court rules, case law or policies
  • Review trial calendars for completeness and accuracy
  • Review case status with judges and/or division manager
  • Conducting formal work performance evaluations
  • Mediating conflicts between team members
  • Training staff
  • Participating in meetings and training outside of the work unit
  • Perform related duties as required
