The Court Services Officer I position involves the supervision and monitoring of children and families under the jurisdiction of the District Court, Child in Need of Care Department. This role also provides support to the Juvenile Offender Unit as needed. The work includes managing a Child in Need of Care caseload or other specific caseloads as directed, compiling and maintaining documentation on all contacts, and utilizing required court case management systems. The position requires providing professional assessments to the court to aid in making appropriate findings and orders. Responsibilities include court appearances, conducting home studies, preparing court reports, performing home visits, child investigations, family assessments, and corresponding with other agencies and the public. The officer must comply with state mandates, local policies and procedures, and perform additional duties as required by supervisors or the Court.
