About The Position

This is a highly experienced skilled or technical position which routinely works with the most technically challenging assignments; serves as a specialized subject matter expert in one or more specific areas; and guides the work of others in pertinent work. This level would be expected to regularly apply noticeably greater technical knowledge than the Senior level. Coordinates resources engaged in the recording of courtroom proceedings for transcription, including preparation of reports; compiling notes; and retrieving/maintaining files. Direction received is very general and focuses on end results and is typically collaborative in nature. Makes decisions on technical issues or procedures in collaboration with supervisors or managers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Completion of Court Reporting courses
  • Completion of all Georgia Certification requirements outlined by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA), National Verbatim Reporters Association (NVRA) or American Association of Electronic Reporters and Transcribers (AAERT)
  • Georgia Certification Required
  • Four (4) years of work experience in the assigned role
  • Fingerprinting required as a part of pre-employment onboarding.
  • CJIS Security Policy v5-9-5.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and Completion of appropriate technical course or associate's degree and four to five (4-5) years of directly related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates resources engaged in recording court proceedings, including court reporting equipment; preparation of proceedings for transcription; reviews transcribed data following guidelines established by the court; compares with original recordings to verify accuracy; and files final transcripts accordingly.
  • Compiles and prepares required reports related to court reporting.
  • Schedules Court Reporters to meet Court needs.
  • Assists with hiring and training of Court Reporters.
  • Provides input to court reporter staff performance reviews.
  • Responsibilities include working with specialized tasks or functions or with highly detailed or regulated processes.
  • Reviews complex or critical documents for correctness.
  • Trains others in specialty area.
  • Serves as a technical resource or mentor to other employees.
  • May lead or instruct less experienced workers in high-level or technical jobs.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
