We welcome all candidates who are inspired by our work and mission. The Multnomah County Circuit Court is hiring a Court Operations Specialist – East County Courthouse. In this role, you will perform a variety of specialized, technical, and complex clerical work related to court operations. This includes working in the courtroom, completing data entry in multiple systems, and customer service functions. You will additionally assist in managing docketing processes by creating, maintaining, distributing, and posting calendars for court participants, partners, and stakeholders, both internal and external. In addition, you will work hand-in-hand with the unit supervisor and team leads to train and advise ECC staff on department and courthouse processes through monitoring, documenting, and evaluating performance. Through your auditing and evaluation, you will keep an eye on compliance and effectiveness, so that you may identify and resolve complex and technical problems, complaints, and inconsistencies, to help determine corrective measures in tandem with ECC leadership. These tasks require keeping the department’s SharePoint page up-to-date, so that you may effectively communicate and document changes for staff and management. You may also be tasked to assist in developing and maintaining local templates and forms by reviewing current documents to ensure they comply with legislative changes. Although this posting attempts to capture the many functions you will perform on a regular basis, assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years of responsible administrative experience in a moderately complex office or business setting demonstrating the knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this position OR Any combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
  • Experience performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks that included using a computer to enter and retrieve information, meeting strict deadlines, and maintaining accuracy when interrupted or distracted by a noisy work setting.
  • Experience providing customer service, in-person and over the phone, to people who may be facing challenging circumstances, high levels of stress, behavioral health issues, or trauma.
  • Experience communicating effectively, orally and in writing, to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience explaining processes, procedures, policies, or decisions on behalf of an employer.
  • Experience reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Must be able to complete the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States within three days of hire.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and will be verified by E-Verify.
