About The Position

The Court Operations Manager oversees the operation and administrative functions related to various aspects of the court record for the Clerk of the Superior Court in order to provide access to the judicial system and related public records to the public, legal community, Courts, County and other governmental agencies so they can pursue legal processes and/or obtain and maintain legal and financial records and information.

Requirements

  • Three years of administrative experience in a court or legal environment, which includes two years of supervisor or lead experience in a court environment
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field
  • Additional supervisory or administrative court-related experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis
  • Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive

Responsibilities

  • Manages and coordinates operational functions within a designated area of the Clerk’s Office at multiple facilities and utilizing all available resources.
  • Oversees Grand Jury proceedings and operations, including coordinating clerk coverage at the Downtown court complex
  • Directly supervises up to four Court Operations Supervisors, and indirectly supervises up to 50+ Court Operations Representatives, Specialists, Specialist Seniors, Auditors, and Leads. Duties include the entire hiring process, progressive discipline, performance management and payroll processing
  • Manages and coordinates all operational functions for Grand Jury Court proceedings
  • Understands, interprets, and trains staff on various statutes, court rules, and procedures
  • Develops specialized procedures for the Grand Jury clerk positions and oversees training objectives
  • Initiates and participates in the establishment and review of Clerk of the Superior Court policies and procedures while ensuring their compliance. Implements procedural changes with office staff, judicial staff, internal and external departments, and agencies
  • Participates in departmental goal setting, leadership, communication, problem solving, decision making, human resources management, budget, project management, and customer relations
  • Represents the Clerk’s Office in meetings with the judiciary, court staff, internal and external departments, and agencies, as well as with the public and assigned committee work
