About The Position

Are you a natural-born leader with excellent customer service skills? Then consider applying to our Court Operations Lead position! As the Court Operations Lead, you will provide direction to the Clerk of the Superior Court (COSC) staff and assist supervisors and management with the completion of administrative duties, training, and research. You will also provide the public, legal community, courts, county, and other governmental agencies access to the judicial system and related public records, to allow them to pursue legal processes and/or obtain and maintain legal and financial records and information. This position has the opportunity for a flex/hybrid schedule after training is completed successfully.

Requirements

  • Three years’ experience with at least one year of customer service and two years of clerical/administrative experience OR Two years at the Clerk of the Superior Court as a Justice System Clerk or higher
  • High school diploma or GED
  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

Responsibilities

  • Provides lead direction to staff by distributing and assigning incoming work
  • Proactively manages and de-escalates tense or challenging interactions by remaining calm, composed, and professional at all times.
  • Performs quality assurance inventory audits to ensure the highest quality standards and maintains statistical data for status reports; reviews and interprets court orders and initiates necessary action; updates the inventory of sensitive items; ensures compliance with judicial orders
  • Prepares and delivers training to staff members or other members of the Clerk of the Superior Court
  • Conducts research to determine eligibility of materials for release and/or disposal; performs complex research and responds to inquiries from internal and external customers; provides customer service telephonically, in person, and by email
  • Identifies and notifies appropriate parties and agencies of pending appeals; prepares and transmits the record on appeal
  • Verifies reports for accuracy of information and makes necessary corrections as required
  • Monitors phone reports to ensure appropriate staffing coverage
  • Ensures all documents are filed expediently and accurately and docketed in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitors systems to ensure there are no technical issues with document transmissions. Reports issues to and works with IT to resolve concerns
  • Prepares statistical team reports which include assisting staff with goal setting for Clerk of Court standards
  • Manages a variety of internal team in-boxes and folders containing questions, requests, and ensures compliance with court orders. In addition to in-box folders and queues, various emails from internal/external sources for processing and document corrections.
  • Completes daily deposits and cash drawer counts and has a familiarity with minimum accounting standards (MAS). Dependent on division assignment
  • Supports and exemplifies the COSC Factors for Success – Thought, Results, People, Self
  • Acts on behalf of supervisor in his/her absence
