About The Position

The Clackamas County Circuit Court is hiring a Records & Cashier Clerk (Court Operations Clerk). In this role, you will process payments for court fines, fees, assessments, and other transactions that are made in person, over the phone, and through the mail. You will handle cash, balance a till, and prepare a daily deposit. You will also perform data entry, update party information in the case management system, scan documents, and verify image quality. In addition to cashiering, you will provide general court information, copies, and form packets to customers visiting the Help Desk. Customer service is an important part of this job. You will answer a variety of questions from internal and external customers about case records and financial matters including balances due, payment plans, tax offsets, hearing dates, the status of cases, and federal bankruptcy status. You will also start and modify payment plans as requested and set up recurring payments for customers. The support you provide will be in person, over the phone, and in writing. Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year of responsible clerical experience in a moderately complex office or business setting.
  • Experience performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks with strict deadlines in a business or professional setting.
  • Experience providing customer service to a variety of individuals.
  • Experience handling cash or credit card transactions and generating receipts.
  • Ability to pass a skills test for bilingual skills (includes ASL) if assigned to use those skills on the job.
  • Must complete the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States within three days of hire.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and pass E-Verify.
