The Multnomah County Circuit Court is hiring a Civil Operations Clerk (Court Operations Associate). In this role, you will spend much of your day handling electronic and hard copy documents received through electronic filing, from a customer service counter, and through mail service. You will enter receipt of these documents onto their appropriate cases using a computer and will scan hard copy documents to digitize them and place them in electronic workflows. You will provide customer service to the public, interested parties and attorneys both in person, by phone and via email. Additionally, you may provide assistance at a customer counter receiving civil filing documents, providing directions and explaining processes and procedures. Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs. We welcome all candidates who are inspired by our work and mission.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three (3) or more years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents OR Any combination of education and experience equivalent to three (3) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
  • Experience performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks that included using a computer to enter and retrieve information, meeting strict deadlines, and maintaining accuracy when interrupted or distracted by a noisy work setting.
  • Experience responding professionally to customers or clients who are facing challenging life circumstances, stressful situations, or trauma.
  • Experience reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Experience identifying and safeguarding confidential information and materials.
  • A cover letter that demonstrates how you meet the Minimum Qualifications, Special Qualifications, and Requested Skills and Attributes.
  • A completed work history, either by completing the Job History (internal candidate) or Work Experience (external candidate) portion of your Workday profile OR by attaching an updated resume.
