About The Position

Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital is a 120-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Tacoma, Washington. We are Department of Health and Joint Commission accredited. We are an acute care psychiatric hospital providing care to both voluntary and involuntary patients. The Court Coordinator works in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff to perform clinical assessments and evaluations of patients admitted on a civil commitment system-wide for involuntary detention to a psychiatric facility. The Court Coordinator provides testimony and writes petitions recommending restrictive treatment for patients admitted on initial detention orders or revocations of restrictive orders in compliance with Pierce County Superior Court rules. As a condition of employment, you must join the SEIU Union within thirty (30) calendar days of employment and remain a member in good standing of the Union, unless you submit and are approved for a religious exemption.

Requirements

  • Master’s in psychology, Social Work or related field
  • Current Licensed as Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Associate, or Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or Associate, or Licensed Advanced Social Worker (LASW) or Associate, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Associate.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Five (5) years recent experience working with acutely ill psychiatric patients specifically involving evaluation of psychiatric safety, level of function, psychiatric diagnoses and medications.
  • Three (3) years recent experience working in a hospital setting.
  • Must join the SEIU Union within thirty (30) calendar days of employment and remain a member in good standing of the Union, unless approved for a religious exemption.

Nice To Haves

  • Designated Crisis Responder (DCR) experience in Pierce County.
  • Experience writing court petitions.
