About The Position

HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is recruiting a Court Clerk for Cardiff Crown Court. The role supports the smooth running of Crown Court hearings and contributes to the administration of justice. The clerk communicates confidently with judges and court participants, including the defence, prosecution, media and members of the public, and prepares accurate, time-critical court documents. Structured training is provided to develop the skills needed for the role. The position combines courtroom duties with work outside the courtroom. This is a full-time, office-based, customer-facing role based at Cardiff Crown Court. Travel to court locations in Merthyr Tydfil, Newport and Swansea may be required depending on business needs. Hybrid working is not available for this role. Standard full-time hours are 37 hours per week. The role is permanent and is advertised at EO grade, with five vacancies.
