About The Position

The Criminal & Traffic Division of the Anchorage Trial Court is accepting applications for a Court Case Manager 2 (SR 12) to review documents and determine compliance with applicable court rules, statutes, and local procedures. This position performs advanced case management and clerical functions in support of Criminal and Traffic Court operations. The position coordinates with judicial officers, attorneys, law enforcement agencies, correctional facilities, and other courts to facilitate case processing and timely distribution of court documents. Additional duties include conducting financial eligibility interviews for court-appointed counsel, assisting with representation hearings, responding to public and agency inquiries, reviewing case files for accuracy, processing search warrants and judgment corrections, providing cross-training and backup support for other case management staff, and performing other duties as assigned to meet the operational needs of the Criminal and Traffic Division. The position may require occasional travel, flexible scheduling, including weekend and holiday rotations, and the ability to adapt to changing court priorities and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer.
  • Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND completion of a two-year paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
  • Post-secondary transcripts, if using education to meet minimum qualifications.
  • Copies of your most recent (2) performance evaluations, if available.
  • A list of two or three professional references who have had supervisory authority over you along with their email addresses and daytime contact phone numbers.
  • Applicants must certify that they have a legal right to accept employment in the United States.
  • Maintain the appropriate documentation to accept or continue legal employment.
  • Provide employer’s name, job title, dates of employment and whether full or part-time for work experience not already documented.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling court proceedings
  • Processing criminal and traffic case filings, motions, judicial orders, warrants, judgments, dismissals, appellate actions, probation matters, and grand jury documents
  • Maintaining accurate electronic and physical case records
  • Ensuring compliance with court rules, procedures, and statutory requirements
  • Coordinating with judicial officers, attorneys, law enforcement agencies, correctional facilities, and other courts to facilitate case processing and timely distribution of court documents
  • Conducting financial eligibility interviews for court-appointed counsel
  • Assisting with representation hearings
  • Responding to public and agency inquiries
  • Reviewing case files for accuracy
  • Processing search warrants and judgment corrections
  • Providing cross-training and backup support for other case management staff
  • Performing other duties as assigned to meet the operational needs of the Criminal and Traffic Division
