About The Position

The City of Wentzville's Municipal Court is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Court Associate. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the court while providing exceptional customer service to the public. This is a part-time position not to exceed an average of 29 hours per week.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience required.
  • Cash handling experience required.
  • Proficient keyboard skills.
  • Basic accounting skills.
  • Ability to follow clear and established processes.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision, and to deliver own work according to specific operational targets within the department.
  • Ability to complete routine and more robust tasks assigned in a timely manner.
  • Ability to provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, co-workers, and customers by telephone, in writing, and in person.
  • Ability to use good judgment and think rationally in difficult or stressful situations.
  • Ability to develop goals and plans to prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential job duty.
  • Job requires being reliable, responsible and dependable.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional job-related degrees or certifications may be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Municipal experience desired.
  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cases for court dockets, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Process various court-related paperwork, including filings, orders, and judgments.
  • Respond to public inquiries in a professional and courteous manner, providing accurate information and assistance.
  • Issue warrants and official court letters as directed.
  • Process payments for fines, court costs, and other fees.
  • Perform general clerical duties, such as filing, data entry, and record keeping.
