About The Position

In consultation with department management but working with a high degree of independence, applies in-depth knowledge of department requirements to determine the courses to be taught by the department / school / college toward the graduate degree. Takes into consideration the proper sequencing of courses for progression toward degree, courses taught in other departments, and other complicating factors. Makes recommendations for replacement courses. Work is reviewed by results achieved. The Course Assistant is responsible for assisting the Master of Science course leader(s) in all activities that support the course planning, conduct, and evaluation of the MS courses. This effort involves conducting curriculum planning and course scheduling in consultation with department / college / school management and faculty, the MS faculty and the Program Director. Also manages the curriculum mapping process using course syllabi and Illios course management tool. Analyzes enrollment trends.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of department requirements.
  • Ability to determine courses to be taught considering proper sequencing, courses taught in other departments, and other complicating factors.
  • Ability to make recommendations for replacement courses.
  • Experience with curriculum planning and course scheduling.
  • Experience managing curriculum mapping processes.
  • Experience analyzing enrollment trends.
