About The Position

This position supervises the Couriers and Mailroom/Copy Services, responsible for the integration efforts with regards to centralized courier services between all affiliates. This position is an integral part of our efforts of creating consistent system-wide courier and copy center processes.

Requirements

  • DRIVERSLIC: Drivers License
  • CHAUFFEURS: Chauffeurs License
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Two-year leadership/supervisory/management experience and 5 years comprehensive health care materials management experience required.
  • Good verbal communication skills, able to present in front of groups, and strong understanding of logistics required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications required, primarily Word and Excel.
  • Driving record that allows for driver insurability by MyMichigan Health Insurance provider.
  • Valid Chauffeurs License.
  • Mandatory tuberculosis (TB) testing must be done annually if applicable.
  • Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training must also be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.
  • Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
  • Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
  • Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
  • Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
  • Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
  • Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
  • Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 11-20 lbs., frequently (34-66% of the workday) 10 lbs. and or Walk/Stand/Push/Pull of Arm/Leg controls.

Nice To Haves

  • Four years supervisory/management experience and 10 years comprehensive hospital materials management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • (35%) Supervises various personnel, provides ongoing education and leadership as well as assistance and back up to those positions he/she supervises.
  • (10%) Administer special projects undertaken at suggestion or direction from Materials Manager.
  • (20%) Supervises all van shuttle transportation activities throughout the Health System (excluding Home Medical Equipment (HME)). Provides ongoing education and leadership as well as assistance and back up to those positions he/she supervises.
  • (35%) Supervises mailroom and copy center activities at MyMichigan Health. Provides ongoing education and leadership as well as assistance and back up to those positions he/she supervises.
  • Conducts regular meetings with staff, other departments, and outside customers in order to provide a high degree of customer satisfaction.
  • MyMichigan Health is a technology driven organization and employees need to demonstrate competency in Microsoft® Windows.
