About The Position

The Transportation Specialist (Courier) plays a key role in supporting daily operations by safely transporting materials, products, and equipment between company locations and customer sites. This position is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company policies, and operating vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid NYS driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL may be required based on vehicle type).
Minimum of 2 years of professional driving, delivery, or transportation experience preferred.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
Ability to operate delivery vehicles and basic material handling equipment.
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and time management skills.

In addition to driving responsibilities, this role supports overall logistics coordination and serves as a reliable point of communication within the team.
The incumbent must demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
If called in to work outside of the regular schedule, employees are expected to work at least four hours unless otherwise directed by management.

Responsibilities

Safely operate company vehicles to transport materials, products, and equipment to and from designated locations.
Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules, adjusting as needed to ensure timely service.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any vehicle maintenance or safety concerns.
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company transportation policies at all times.
Load, secure, transport, and unload shipments in a safe and efficient manner.
Communicate with supervisors or dispatch regarding delays, delivery issues, or route changes.
Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with customers and internal teams.
Maintain accurate transportation records and prepare required reports.
