About The Position

The University of Miami Health Systems has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Courier in the Patient Transportation Department. The Courier is responsible for transporting patients safely and efficiently to and from all departments as coordinated. Ability to establish effective patient rapport. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Able to operate transportation equipment (i.e., wheelchairs, stretchers, and E-cylinder oxygen tanks). Precise eye-hand coordination and dexterity for the ability to operate and adjust equipment. Ability to relate cooperatively and constructively with patients, co-workers, physicians. volunteers, and family members. Ability to exercise independent judgment. Ability to recognize IV pump alarms during transport and notify appropriate personnel. Ability to visually assess patient's general condition during transport. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, family members, and others, as needed. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent education is required.
No experience necessary.
Must have a BLS (American Heart Association-Healthcare Professional).

Nice To Haves
