About The Position

Rivers Health is seeking a per-diem Courier for Outreach Operations. The role is responsible for picking up laboratory specimens from outreach facilities using a private or corporate-owned vehicle and delivering them to the outpatient lab department for processing. The Courier identifies themselves at outreach facilities, collects specimens and paperwork, and transports specimens in appropriate containers according to regulations. Mileage is calculated according to hospital policy for per-diem courier services.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Reading and writing skills.
Basic math skills.
Valid driver's license with a good driving record, as defined by the Rivers Health Driver Evaluation form.
Completion of the Rivers Health Driver Safety Documentation Form.

Previous courier experience.

Responsibilities

Pick up laboratory specimens from outreach facilities using a private or corporate-owned vehicle.
Maintain a courier log daily or as needed.
Maintain a mileage log daily or as needed.
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
Participate in the PI process.
Comply with corporate policies, departmental policies and procedures, and the Personnel Employee Handbook.
Deliver specimens to the outpatient lab department for processing.
Identify self to outreach facilities and pick up specimens and paperwork.
Transport specimens in appropriate containers according to regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
