About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Administrative Operations Manager, this part-time role is responsible for cleaning and maintaining laboratory glassware, preparing 24-hour urine containers, and serving as a courier. The courier delivers supplies, patient reports, and mail to physician's offices and satellite facilities, and makes routine and STAT specimen pickups from these locations. This includes facilities like Parrish Healthcare Center at Port St John, Royal Oak-Port St John, and Royal Oak-Titusville.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
No experience necessary.
Valid State of Florida Drivers License and Motor Vehicle Record that is acceptable to PMC’s corporate automobile insurance carrier.
License will be screened prior to employment and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

Responsible for safe operation of Laboratory vehicle during routine and stat pickups for Laboratory specimens from offsite facilities and physician offices.
Transports all materials with attention to patient confidentiality and safety.
Transport diagnostic X-rays to and from Royal Oak Medical Offices Titusville and Port St John to Parrish Healthcare Center at Port St John.
Deliver Pharmacy medications and supplies to Parrish Healthcare Center at Port St John, Parrish Community Clinic and Parrish Wound Healing Center.
Accurately documents daily mileage in the daily logbook.
Performs basic operational inspection of vehicle daily, to include oil, tires, lights and water.
Reports any vehicle problems to the Laboratory Operations Manager.
Keeps vehicle supplied with gas and interior clean.
Monitors the pneumatic tube system and delivers specimens to the appropriate section during scheduled periods.
Stamps outpatient requisitions with date and time received in the laboratory and informs appropriate personnel of STAT orders.
Cleans and maintains laboratory glassware.
Aids in putting away laboratory supplies.
Accurately measures and adds preservatives to 24 hour urine containers and properly labels.
Prepares cytology specimen bottles with Formalin.
Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as pertains to the work area.
Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
