About The Position

The Courier position at LeeSar, Inc. is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of all products and items requiring transportation-related courier services. This includes deliveries between hospitals, medical offices, LeeSar locations, and all customers of the LeeSar Regional Service Center. The role involves both scheduled routes and emergency 'stat' situations, handling various items such as medical products, mail, medical records, X-Ray films, accounting records, and non-dangerous laboratory specimens. The Courier is also expected to maintain a clean driving record, adhere to company policies and procedures, and contribute to a positive team environment.

Requirements

  • High School or GED Graduate required
  • Read, write, and speak English for work related communication
  • Must possess a valid Florida driver's license and a clean driving record
  • DOT Physical may be required depending on vehicle driven by associate

Responsibilities

  • Identify and escalate safety issues
  • Ability to follow detailed directions with or without supervision
  • Maintain Clean Driving Record
  • Complete and maintain any other training as required by management
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and on-the-job training programs as required
  • Act as a resource, guide, and role model for all new hires; demonstrate ability to energetically and enthusiastically assist new hires in acclimating to the job and foster a sense of belonging
  • Know the specific location, efficient directions to, delivery times and requirements of every location serviced
  • Performs other related duties with the job classification or organization as necessary or as assigned by Supervisor
  • Operates office equipment as necessary; including computers, copy machines, and cell phones
  • Maintain complete and accurate logs of all pickups and deliveries
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area (i.e. discard empty boxes)
  • Follow all documented LeeSar standard operating procedures
  • Follow all documented LeeSar Policy & Procedures
  • Demonstrate ability to meet LeeSar attendance policy, being at work, on time
  • Maintain professional appearance; which includes wearing clean well-maintained uniforms, provided by the company
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all materials, information and records
  • Demonstrate good verbal and non-verbal communication skills including positive and strong team communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal skill; clearly and professionally communicates with all peers, customers, and leadership

  • Maintains positive relationships by serving as the leadership liaison between LeeSar DC and members CSRs

  • Introduce yourself when you meet anyone for the first time, your introduction should be formal, professional, courteous and friendly
  • Using a company vehicle, pick up and deliver all items (medical products, postal mail, inter-office mail, medical records, X-Ray films, accounting records and or non-dangerous laboratory specimens) to and from any location, (primarily, but not limited to LeeSar locations, Post Office, hospitals, medical offices and any other LeeSar Customer) on either scheduled routes, or as needed for emergency "stat" situations
  • Perform other duties assigned by a supervisor
  • Completes daily driver vehicle inspection report
  • When called upon to make an emergency "stat" or unscheduled deliveries, work with supervisors to determine the best couriering method and directions of servicing that request
  • Ability to participate in team problem solving
  • Demonstrate ability to identify potential solutions to department quality opportunities
  • Demonstrate flexibility and strong teamwork skills in any required job duties
