About The Position

The Courier safely drives company-owned vehicles to deliver documents, family mementos, flowers, caskets, and other items, and to complete office errands. The role maintains company vehicles and may assist a Removal Technician with driving or lifting. Couriers interact professionally and sensitively with bereaved families, may obtain delivery signatures and update delivery information in software, and travel locally or among multiple locations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to communicate professionally, clearly, and effectively.
• Ability to contribute to team success.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and push or pull up to 200 pounds.
• Ability to meet the role's physical demands, including manual dexterity and attention to driving hazards, traffic, and weather conditions.
• Ability to travel up to 80%.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of work experience as a courier or driver is strongly preferred.
• Basic computer skills are helpful.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport and deliver documents, family mementos, flowers, and similar items to destinations such as family residences or funeral homes.
• Interact courteously and professionally with bereaved family members, show sensitivity to the environment, obtain signatures when required, and minimize conversation.
• Run office errands, including trips to the post office and purchases or deliveries of office supplies and food.
• Transport caskets to airports, care centers, or cemeteries and possibly assist with moving them.
• Update software with delivery information when needed.
• Wash, vacuum, and clean vehicles to keep them presentable.
• Fuel vehicles as necessary while following safety guidelines and expenditure processes.
• Identify vehicle engine or operating issues and report them to management.
• Drive vehicles for repair or inspection.
• Possibly assist a Removal Technician with driving or lifting.
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
