About The Position

Easter Plumas Health Care is currently hiring a Temporary Courier. The Courier is responsible for the transportation of medical charts, files, x-rays, laboratory specimens, equipment, financial records and paychecks as well as other needed supplies between the Loyalton, Portola, and Graeagle Medical campuses. The Courier transports Protected Health Information and bio-hazardous materials in accordance with State and Federal regulations. This is a temporary position of approximately 3+ months, with potential to be hired on full time or part time at the conclusion of 3-month period.

Requirements

In order to be covered by EPHC’s liability insurance, drivers must be at least 21 years of age.
Must maintain a clean driving record, both on and off duty.
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Current California Driver’s License

Responsibilities

Drive and operate a vehicle between the Loyalton, Portola, and Graeagle campuses one to two times per day, or as needed.
Deliver and pick up confidential documents containing protected health information, patient’s medical records, x-rays, lab samples/reports as directed.
Deliver and pick up mail at the Loyalton post office and deliver to Admitting at the hospital.
Deliver and pick up central supply items as needed.
Distribute central supply items to appropriate areas as directed.
Deliver and pick up financial records.
Picks up mail from Administrative/Business Offices and delivers it to the post office.
Delivers drugs and vaccinations to clinics as needed.
Coordinates and maintains service to the company vehicle and reports any major problems to the supervisor.
Trains new hires to the department.
Other duties as assigned.
