Courier/Specimen Accessioner
About The Position
Labcorp is seeking a Courier/Specimen Accessioner to join their team in Fayetteville, AR. This is a hybrid role that performs two functions: Courier and Accessioner. As a Courier, the employee will pick up test samples and supply request forms and/or deliver supplies and reports on a specified route following an established sequence and time schedule. As an Accessioner, the employee will prepare all specimens received for testing in designated laboratory departments or locations, which includes staging specimens, centrifuging, and separating serum and blood smears. The role also involves data entry of test requisition information.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License and good driving record
- Be at least 21 years old
- Very punctual with strong time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Customer service experience
- Ability to problem solve customer issues
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Exceptional customer service
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
Nice To Haves
- 6 months or more of professional courier or route‑based delivery experience, ideally within a medical or laboratory company.
Responsibilities
- Load all necessary supplies needed for the daily pickups
- Complete daily pick up schedule in a timely manner
- Deliver all daily picks to your branch at the end of your shift
- Handle all specimens and lab samples in safe and efficient manner
- Safely operate company vehicle and obey all traffic laws
- Utilize handheld electronic device to manage daily picks up
- Work directly with dispatcher for additional pick-ups as needed
- Evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes and weather conditions as needed
- Prepare all specimens received for testing in designated laboratory departments or locations
- Stage specimens, centrifuge, separate serum, and blood smears
- Perform data entry of test requisition information
