About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Accessioner to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. This role involves preparing laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, unpacking and routing specimens, accurately identifying and labeling specimens, packing and shipping specimens, meeting department activity and production goals, preparing and storing excess specimen samples, and performing data entry of patient information. The position also requires resolving and documenting any problem specimens.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Able to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Able to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized colorblind test
• Able to work 1-4 hours of daily overtime

Nice To Haves

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• One year or more of prior clinical/lab experience
• One year or more of prior knowledge of specimen accessioning
• One year or more of previous experience in production or manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Resolve and document any problem specimens
