Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing, nursing administration, public health or directly related field from an accredited college or university AND One year in an administrative or supervisory capacity AND current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • OR Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND Four years of experience as Registered Nurse, Two years of which in an administrative or supervisory capacity AND current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • OR Eight years of experience as a Registered Nurse, Two years of which in an environment related to the area of assignment, Three years of which as a supervisor AND current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years or more of Public Health experience and functioning off Public Health Nurse Protocols as expanded role nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Manages, plans, organizes, and directs all nursing activities in assigned facility.
  • Responsible for the quality of nursing care.
  • Directs subordinate supervisors and staff.
  • Manage daily operations within county health department
  • Collaborate with community partners, state agencies, and stakeholders to identify needs and improve health access
  • Developing and implementing standards and policies for our clinic while also monitoring staff adherence to district/state policies and procedures
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, offering guidance and mentorship to help them acclimate quickly to their roles
  • Planning, assigning, and reviewing the work of professional and support staff, ensuring high-quality service by completing performance evaluations
  • Monitor budget - ensuring cost-efficient operations without compromising care quality
  • Advocate for staff and act as liaison between staff and leadership
  • Providing support during emergency situations by assisting with disaster response efforts and coordinating healthcare resources
  • Fostering a positive work environment and maintaining good morale among staff
  • Providing guidance to staff nurses in complex patient scenarios
  • Strategically aligning clinic goals with district goals
