About The Position

As a County Government Facility Security Officer in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following established post orders and reporting protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, corridors, entry points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor movement throughout the location, observe for unusual behavior or conditions, and document security-related incidents, observations, and/or daily activities in required reports.
• Assist staff, visitors, and/or authorized personnel with access procedures, directions, and general support while maintaining awareness of site rules and restricted areas.
