About The Position

This position is located in Wilmington, Delaware. Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Wilmington is seeking a County Coordinator who will be responsible to recruit and train day care providers, childcare centers or after-school care programs for participation in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and to verify programs are correctly serving and documenting the components of good nutrition through balanced meals and appropriate portions for children. The schedule for this full-time position is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, and may require occasional availability outside of the normal hours of operation as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of experience in food and nutrition, food service systems management or related fields or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office/365, email applications, including the ability to create and modify Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to maintain confidential/sensitive information and data.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with individuals from diverse cultural, socio-economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and ability to make on-site visits in personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
  • Willingness to consent to a satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening in accordance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits and trains new providers to ensure understanding of program regulations and their implementation.
  • Monitors providers on site monthly for compliance with program regulations - three times a year per provider.
  • Consults with providers about new menu ideas and food preparation techniques and develops and delivers provider workshops throughout the state.
  • Reviews enrollment to determine eligibility and calculates rate of reimbursement.
  • Enters provider enrollment and reimbursement information into State of Delaware database.
  • Processes provider claims, ensuring timely and accurate submission of monthly reimbursement requests with required cross-checked back-up documentation.
  • Reviews receipts and enters expenses into spreadsheets.
  • Maintains provider/center files including enrollment and income forms.
  • Maintains database, mailing lists, email addresses and office files.
  • Completes case reviews of provider files.
  • Generate awareness of good health and nutrition, healthy lifestyles and weight control.
