About The Position

This position centers on helping individuals navigate housing challenges and basic needs that affect their ability to live independently. You will support consumers by evaluating their situations and connecting them with programs that match their needs. As a County Caseworker 1, you will perform the following duties: Housing Assessment: Review consumer housing crises and histories to identify needs. Needs Evaluation: Examine barriers such as transportation, employment, and basic resources. Program Guidance: Provide information on agency programs and verify eligibility. Referral Coordination: Link consumers to appropriate services and assist in planning. Case Management: Maintain organized, current, and compliant files and records.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences
  • A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions
  • Must pass a background investigation
  • Conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening
  • Must pass satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
