Countertop Template Technician
About The Position
Sims-Lohman is hiring a Countertop Template Technician in Canton, Ohio. The technician travels to customer sites for residential new construction, residential remodeling, and commercial projects to assess and measure countertops for granite, quartz, and solid-surface applications. The role involves confirming cabinet and wall conditions, verifying project details with customers, anticipating installation or fabrication challenges, answering customer questions, and completing templates to support daily production. The technician uses a 2D3D Laser Digital Template and returns to the shop after site visits.
Requirements
- Previous experience creating countertop templates, or experience with cabinets and carpentry.
- Knowledge of measuring tools and levels; familiarity with lasers is preferred.
- Ability to perform simple math functions, including using fractions.

Responsibilities
- Drive to customer locations throughout the Canton market, including residential new-construction, residential-remodeling, and commercial jobs.
- Confirm cabinet level and stability for granite, quartz, and solid-surface applications.
- Confirm that existing walls are plumb and square.
- Confirm overhang and splash dimensions and sink choice with the customer.
- Anticipate installation and fabrication challenges.
- Answer customer questions about the installation process.
- Measure templates at each job using a 2D3D Laser Digital Template and return to the shop after the site visit.
- Complete required templates to support daily production.
