Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of customer servicing, order editing, pricing, writing, data entry, expediting and other similar duties, mainly those pertaining to a variety of connector products, industrial products and fluid power products.
  • Receive and review inquiries and orders, check to ensure correct identification of parts and assemblies required; price following established practice from records available or in conjunction with supervisor. Refer questionable situations, items to supervisor or others for identification or additional information. Contact customer as necessary to obtain additional information required.
  • Provide application assistance and make recommendations relative to our products and services. Make custom hose and tubing assemblies for customers while they wait.
  • Enter orders into computer; provide all pertinent data and information. Obtain pricing, delivery and other information to finalize order with customer. Work with supervisor on more complex or major order situations to prepare pricing or quotations. Check customer orders against any quotation made, edit, write and enter into computer. Receive, pick and ship all orders. Wait on customers at counter, make hose assemblies.
  • Receive and investigate customer inquiries and complaints regarding deliveries, price or other matters. Supply information, initiate action and resolve within established practice. Refer policy matters to supervisor. Coordinate activities with outside sales force, fabrication department or other company personnel.
  • Provide leads to outside salespersons for new customers, major projects, product application, etc. Keep sales force and others informed on matters affecting their operations.
  • Perform cycle counting daily, record counts, resolve count deviations, and update system. Entire inventory is to be counted twice within a fiscal year. Monitor and check physical inventories against computer.
  • Maintain pertinent sales, account and cost records; prepare various reports as instructed. Maintain product literature and obtain technical information from manufacturers as necessary.
  • Travel – The Hope Group operated multiple facilities throughout the New England area. From time to time out employees will be required to travel to other locations. Examples of required travel may include, but are not limited to, company events, conferences, open houses, training, orientation, and coverage for labor shortages. When travel to other locations is required, employees will be reimbursed for the use of personal vehicles as detailed in the Travel Reimbursement Policy from in The Hope Group Business Management System [BMS].
  • Support The Hope Group Business Management System [BMS] procedures and work instructions by following established processes and supporting their continual improvement.
  • Perform other similar or related duties as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
