Requirements

Ability to recognize colors and sizes.
Ability to count accurately.
Ability to comprehend and follow direction.
Ability to stand, walk, reach overhead, push, pull, grasp, lift up to 50 lbs. and stoop for the entire shift.
Ability to work in production areas of a typical industrial laundry facility, which includes variations in temperature, odors, humidity, lint, and dust.
Soiled linens come from a variety of customers such as restaurants, hotels, medical facilities, and shops.

Responsibilities

Handles, counts, sorts, and records incoming soiled textiles from customers.
Identifies damaged or abused textiles.
Prepares and transfers textiles to other departments.
Performs other tasks as needed.
Opens bags of soiled textiles, then sorts them by type, size, and color.
Counts textiles manually or electronically, and transfers them into sorting systems.
Identifies damaged or abused textiles and records them into sorting systems.
Meets efficiency and safety standards for the position.
Follows instructions as directed by supervision.
Works in other production positions as needed.
