About The Position

We are looking for talented individuals to join our NAPA family as a Counter Sales Associate. In this role, you will be the "face of the retail store" and the primary contact for customers entering our stores for their automotive needs. While extensive mechanical knowledge is not required, a background and understanding of automotive parts is necessary. This position offers a great opportunity for those seeking a career as a Parts Specialist, looking for full/part-time work, or aiming to gain experience for future career exploration within NAPA.

Requirements

Valid Driver's License
Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry or a willingness to learn all things auto parts.
High School Diploma or GED.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to thrive in fast-paced retail environments.
Strong listening skills and empathy for customers.

Nice To Haves

Technical or Trade school courses or degree.
Background and/or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision.
Knowledge of cataloging AND/OR inventory management systems.
Customer-centric approach (external/internal).
ASE Certifications.

Responsibilities

Provide auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter and over the phone.
Utilize parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering customer questions.
Deliver outstanding customer care and interactions.
Welcome retail customers and engage them to provide a positive consumer experience.
Operate technology including computers, cash registers, telephones, and paper catalog systems.
