About The Position

QC Supply is seeking a Full-Time Counter Sales/Parts Associate for their Ames, IA location. This role involves providing excellent customer service and sales support, managing showroom interactions, and handling order fulfillment (picking, packing, and shipping). The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The associate will be responsible for various tasks from product arrival to final billing, ensuring smooth operations and accurate order delivery.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Ability to read and understand English.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced customer driven environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Responds promptly to customer needs.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours a week with occasional overtime.

  • Previous customer service experience is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to continually upgrade industry, parts and equipment knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and assisting walk-in customers in the showroom.
  • Providing customer service and sales support over the phone and in-person.
  • Picking, packing, and shipping orders accurately and on time.
  • Managing inventory, including shelving products and performing cycle counts.
  • Ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
  • Coordinating with the warehouse to account for all materials.
  • Maintaining a neat and clean parts counter and showroom.
  • Operating office equipment and handling payment transactions.
  • Utilizing computer operating systems and inventory management systems.
  • Educating customers on new products and promotions.
  • Recommending appropriate parts and equipment to customers.
  • Performing any daily tasks as assigned.
