About The Position

A Counter Sales Associate will partner with our customers to provide industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and other essential supplies. You will serve as a trusted guide, advising customers on the tools, hardware, and materials needed to successfully complete their projects. By demonstrating equipment use and sharing insights on product quality, you help our customers pioneer new solutions in their own work. Champions a commitment to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment to ensure a secure and supportive environment for everyone. Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external partners, fostering understanding and long-term relationships. Ensures all essential documentation is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing. Partners with customers to identify the most effective and appropriate solutions and procedures for their specific tasks; demonstrates equipment use to build customer confidence. Collaborates on order entry and processes transactions; supports the team with the smooth reconciliation of deposits. Coordinates via phone, e-mail, and in person with customers and team members to provide helpful information on costs and delivery. Contributes to an outgoing call strategy to support the continued growth and collective success of the branch. Coordinates the transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs. Nurtures a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a supportive and collaborative manner with customers, vendors, and colleagues. Stocks shelves and maintains welcoming showroom displays to provide an excellent, inviting customer experience. Collaborates on cylinder movement and pallet organization.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license to drive a company vehicle
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous product, warehouse and/or sales related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Intermediate knowledge of Google and/or MS Office Applications.
  • Requires frequent use of computer and telephones and occasional use of a forklift, pallet jack or other material handling equipment.
  • Employee will frequently be required to position self to stock inventory and handle cylinders.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to routinely move up to 60 pounds and move more than 60 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
