About The Position

We are looking for a Counter Sales / Back Up VMI Driver Associate in Ramsey, MN! As a Counter Sales Associate, you are the warm and welcoming first point of contact for our customers as they walk into our branches, embodying the collaborative spirit of Airgas. In this role, you will guide customers to the right solutions for their medical, industrial, and specialty gas needs, as well as welding equipment, hard goods, and tools. The Counter Sales Associate fosters trust and builds relationships with both walk-in and phone-in customers, while collaborating with the team to provide additional warehouse support as needed.

Requirements

HS Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 2 years of previous product, warehouse and/or sales related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Intermediate knowledge of Google and/or MS Office Applications.
Requires frequent use of computer and telephones and occasional use of a forklift, pallet jack or other material handling equipment.
Employees will frequently be required to position themselves to stock inventory and handle cylinders.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to routinely move up to 60 pounds and move more than 60 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
Valid drivers license.

Responsibilities

Connects with walk-in and telephone call-in customers, assisting them with identification of product needs and locating merchandise.
Accurately completes and files all required paperwork on a timely basis, ensuring seamless documentation of sales, quotes, or other information.
Enters sales & quote data into the computer and researches helpful information for customers using the computer system.
Receives payment for merchandise or services sold and enters sales into the computer.
Ensures accuracy with payments received while adhering to all administrative and accounting related procedures.
Restocks store merchandise as needed, arranging stock on shelves or racks in sales area to keep merchandise organized and inviting.
Marks or tickets merchandise.
Provides vital warehouse support for shipping & receiving, inventory stocking, cleaning, labelling, or other collective tasks.
Delivers and replenishes various industrial products, vending machine items, or storeroom goods for customers.
Performs basic troubleshooting and supports the maintenance of mechanical vending systems as needed.
Reviews manual stock levels of various inventories at multiple plant departments to facilitate timely reordering.
Follows all safety procedures, utilizing established safety practices for cylinder handling during exchanges and storage of cylinders.
Contributes to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming showroom environment in alignment with branch standards.
Keeps price documentation and product literature updated as it becomes available while keeping product knowledge current.
Collaborates on additional team projects and duties as needed.
