About The Position

As a Count Team Member, your core role is safeguarding large sums of chips and currency with strict attention to detail, preventing loss. You'll follow procedures meticulously, monitor Count Room activities, conduct surveillance, ensure proper handling of drop boxes, and maintain accuracy in counts. Collaboration with your team is essential to maintain consistency, and you'll document any discrepancies while adhering to regulations. You'll also troubleshoot counting equipment and contribute to a secure and positive work environment that aligns with Playground's goals and vision.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
  • Ability to identify, count and stack different denominations of gaming chips and currency.
  • Ability to move or lift full and empty cash/chips boxes weighing up to 30 pounds each.
  • Ability to remain standing for the majority of shift and efficiently move around the counting room area.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to handle boxes, currency and chips.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and meet deadlines.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Flexibility with scheduling (weekends, holidays, special events, and extended hours).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in English and French (written/spoken).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience of business specific software or computer applications.
  • Experience in cash handling, counting, or related financial roles.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain protection of large amounts of chips and/or currency, ensuring loss prevention by showing great attention to detail.
  • Ensure that procedures and proper controls are followed to protect counted receipts.
  • Sustain close control of all activity in the Count Rooms by maintaining an awareness of changes and/or problems; which may affect the security of the currency and chips in the Count Rooms.
  • Maintain visual and electronic surveillance of personnel to certify prevention of monetary loss.
  • Ensure the proper sealing, labeling, and documentation of drop boxes following established procedures.
  • Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues encountered during the drop process.
  • Perform and observe counts, review count slips, and reconcile total funds to ensure the integrity of the count.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in counting and recording financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure consistency and reliability in counts.
  • Document and report any variances or discrepancies, following established protocols.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot counting equipment, such as currency counters, sorters and strappers.
  • Assist in the regular maintenance and calibration of counting equipment to ensure accurate results.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Report illegal activity to Security and Surveillance or appropriate levels of Management.
  • Keep the count room clean and organized, adhering to safety and security guidelines.
  • Promote and maintain a positive work environment and Playground’s goal and vision.
