About The Position

The role of the Counselor- Guidance & Counseling Dept. is to provide mental health services, counsel and provide related services which help students and faculty/staff acquire skills in the social, personal, educational, and career areas that are necessary for living in a multi-cultural society. The counselor is to provide information through group guidance that contributes to the development of effective learning environments through advocacy and through consulting with others which are consistent with Board Policy and with statutes and standards of regulatory agencies. The counselor is responsible for contributing to the educational program as a whole and to the growth of each individual. The Counselor will provide psycho-education and psychological first aid services in BISD and deliver staff development on mental health topics and other duties as prescribed by the Director of Guidance & Counseling.

Requirements

• Master's Degree
• Valid Texas Counselor’s certificate
• Valid Texas Teacher’s certificate
• Three (3) years counseling experience
• Three (3) years teaching experience
• MUST UPLOAD RESUME & OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS

Nice To Haves

• Valid Licensed Specialist in School Psychology Certificate
• Valid Licensed Professional Counselor Certificate
